Dimapur, September 4 (MExN): City College of Arts & Commerce was declared as tobacco free campus on September 3. Along with the declaration, a seminar was held at the college with Dr. C. Tetseo, District Programme Officer, National Tobacco Control Programme, as the resource person. Dr. C. Tetseo not only encouraged the students to give up the habit of using tobacco, but also emphasised on the fast growing rate of non-communicable diseases caused by tobacco and number of chronic diseases, including cancer, lung diseases and cardiovascular diseases.
The doctor also congratulated the institution for being declared as the 5th tobacco free college in Dimapur. Z. Kepfo, Chairman, Pradip Burman, Vice Chairman, and N. Lassu, GB, of Netaji Colony also attended the seminar.
