Civil organizations asked to strengthen ACAUT movement

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland today asserted that “slowly but surely ACAUT movement is impacting lives and the latest declaration by Phek Chamber of Commerce in support of 31st October declaration is very encouraging and laudable.” A press statement issued by Media Cell, ACAUT Nagaland said it is the business community which has boldly come forward to support the Naga declaration of One Government One Taxation and asked the civil organizations to emulate the decisions of the business community and strengthen the ACAUT movement.

“The business community has been bearing the brunt of the taxation menace at great risk to their personal lives and businesses; the latest incident of grenade throwing by 2 unidentified miscreants at the resident of a businessman at Marwaripatti, Dimapur, is a case in point,” the release stated. “This abominable incident is not the first of its kind in Dimapur; however, we can ensure that such intimidations do not take place provided the public support and strengthen the cry of One Government One Taxation.”
Further, the ACAUT Nagaland totally condemned the “murderous action of 1st March since it was only by sheer providence that the grenade failed to explode.” It added, “It’ll be truly unfortunate if this incident is linked to unabated taxation but it’s beyond reasonable doubt that extortion racket in Dimapur has reached epic proportions.”
