KOHIMA, MAY 29 (DIPR): Nagaland Civil Secretariat will soon have some new services to facilitate the officers and staff working there. The HoDs and Secretaries meeting held on May 26 resolved to open a Grocery Shop in the Secretariat so that its employees do not have to leave office during office hours to buy household necessities. A Committee headed by the Principal Secretary (Home) was entrusted to work out the details.
The Department of Medical Services will also depute/assign some nurses/paramedics to the Secretariat to attend to emergency and minor illness of the staff. The Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Director of Land Resources Development were also entrusted to look into the possibility of setting up meat and fish vendors near the Secretariat.
General Manager of BSNL, NE Circle (II) who also attended the meeting assured the house that a billing counter for BSNL and a dedicated line for money orders would be installed at the Secretariat at an early date. Taking the opportunity of the GM’s presence, several officers offered suggestions for improving the mobile phone services in the State.
