CK Nayudu: Nagaland declare innings at 634/5

Dimapur November 3 (MExN): After amassing a massive total against Sikkim, Nagaland today declared their 1st innings at 634/5 at the ongoing C K Naydu (U-23) Trophy being played in Bhubaneswar.   Trialling by 488 runs, Sikkim started their second innings on positive note and were batting for 31 for no loss at stumps on Day 2.   Earlier on Friday, Sikkim won the toss and were bowled out for 146 runs. In reply, Nagaland scored 180 runs losing just 2 wickets in 36 overs at the end of Day 1.   When the match resumed today, the team piled on the early momentum and took the massive lead of 488, with one double century and two centuries.   Vinayak scored 214 for Nagaland while Tanay and Arvind scored 156 and 100 (n.o) respectively. Another 88 runs by Samarat resulted in the massive total.   For Sikkim, Akash Luital picked 2 wickets.   The match will continue on Day-3. U-16 team wins Vijay Merchant match Meanwhile, taking a cue from the seniors, the U-16 Nagaland team today defeated Mizoram by an innings and 113 runs at the ongoing Vijay Merchant U-16 Trophy at Golaghat on November 3.   Earlier, after bundling out the opponent for measly 58 runs in the first innings, Nagaland declared their 1st innings at 225/ 7. The feat was improved upon by four runs, as Mizoram managed to score just 54 in the second innings.   Nagaland will play with Meghalaya from November 12 to 14 at Golaghat, Assam.
