Kohima, October 6 (MExN): Christ King Higher Secondary School (CKHSS), Kohima Village, Kohima is gearing up to celebrate its 50 years of existence on October 10 at 10:00 am.
CKHSS Kohima is the first Catholic missionary school started by the Salesians of Don Bosco in Nagaland in February 1969 with a few students in the P Khel of Kohima village.
Information and Publicity Committee, CKHSS Golden Jubilee in a press release stated it was started by Rev Fr Tarcisius Resto, SDB. The aim was to provide high quality education to the children of Kohima and the surrounding villages.
Nagaland Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs Temjen Imna Along will grace the main celebration as special guest while Bishop of Kohima Diocese Rt Rev Dr James Thoppil, DD and Vice-provincial Salesian Province of Dimapur, Rev Fr Nazarius Lakra will be the guest of honor for the occasion.
During the programme, Rector Fr Paul Punü will deliver the welcome address, while Wennyei Konyak (1992 batch) and Lydia Yeptho (1993 batch) will share reminiscing the golden past.
Principal of CKHSS Fr Lonuo Linus will deliver vote of thanks. The occasion will also be marked by unveiling jubilee monolith, release of souvenir, special presentations and special awards to rank holders and teachers.
Meanwhile, the school authority and CKHSS Alumni Association has requested all the past pupils of the school and also well-wishers to be part of the occasion.
