DIMAPUR OCT 30 (MExN): The Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) lamented that government employees in Tuensang were neglecting their duties and responsibilities when the State Government and peoples’ representative were striving at all levels to bring change to the district. It warned that the Setshang would not hesitate to take stringent action against insincere employees.
It also took a serious view that heavy extortions were being carried out by “few unwanted elements” thus compelling the business community to charge exorbitant rates and “intolerable hike” on commodities for the people of the district. It asked that the illegal practice of extortion be stopped before the peoples’ support absorbed confusion and hatred.
Meanwhile, the CKS through N Kaimang Chang, President and Lakhum Chang Secretary, Information and Publicity expressed its appreciation to the DAN government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for carrying out developmental works in Tuensang town. It acknowledged the efforts of the Government namely, in constructing the departmental residential quarter, departmental office as well as for the widening and metalling of the town roads. It stated that many years had remained void in terms of developmental activities in Tuensang however the later years have seen the sincere efforts of the present Government towards the “backward” district. The CKS also acknowledged P Chuba Chang, Parliamentary Secretary, P Longon, Minister for PHED and Imtilemba, Minister for Transport for what the organization said was active participation in all the developmental works within Tuensang. It also expressed its appreciation to all the elected members and party workers for their cooperation and support in the activities.
