I would like to Clarify the as a “Legitimate Son of the Soil” My first and most important priority, is to see the development and upgradation of my Zeliang people of Peren District, following the footsteps of my Grandfather and fathers and elders of my family, and I am willing to fight tooth and nail for our rights i.e. the Zeliang people’s rights. I have nothing to contribute materially, but what I have contributed through my writings and research of documents, maps and important post Independence and pre Independence official documents of our territorial rights, (I can proudly say with all modesty) cannot be matched nor equaled by anyone in my district.
Plus due to my close affiliation to the media, I have many a times highlighted the injustice meted out to my people living in Peren District, which I take no credit for, but to my friends in the media. Therefore I have earned the right to say what I think and point out the facts which will never be pointed out by politicians due to their party affiliation, be it regional or national party. It came to me as an unpleasant surprise to hear that I had hurt the sentiments of some of my brothers in my latest article, but one should realize that an “article” is a personal opinion or view, and not an official document, therefore, the article cannot and should not be taken as a “memorandum” and “agreement” or a “press release.” I apologize if I have hurt any sentiments (I do not lose face nor my dignity to say so). But on the other hand, I stand as an individual, a son of the soil, Grand son, son and Nephew of those who has given much to the recognition of not only to the Zeliangrong people but also Nagaland and Nagas as a whole. I do not have to proclaim his or her names identity or achievements for history has recorded everything of the past and present. Also I want to point out to my people, is that most of those making this an issue are doing so, for their political mileage, thus those misguiding the people of Peren District will have to answer to all and also to God Almighty on Judgment Day.
But as I have said earlier, it is always good to read through the whole article and understand the writers’ point of view, instead of negating a few lines and sentences, leaving out the rest of what has been written.
