Dimapur June 14 (MExN): Konyak organizations have asked the NSCN (IM) to substantiate with ‘facts and evidences’ the organization’s contention that the assassinated NSCN (K) Education Kilonser Ngampan Konyak, was ‘anti-Konyak’.
The three frontline civil organizations of the Konyaks, the Konyak Union (KU), the Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) and the Konyak Students Union (KSU) in a joint statement signed by presidents Tingnei Konyak, KU, Yumah Konyak, KNSK and T Khongjah Loungs, KSU General Secretary demanded clarification and what grounds the late Kilonser was considered ‘anti-Konyak’.
The civil bodies stated that after killing the NSCN (K) Education Kilonser, the NSCN (IM) termed late Ngampan Konyak as anti-Naga and particularly ‘anti-Konyak’. In this regard the organizations sought clarification how the late Kilonser was considered to be anti-Konyak.
“As far as our knowledge is concerned late Ngampan Konyak was a good citizen of the Konyaks and we respect and honor him as a consecrated Naga patriot” the joint statement affirmed and added that the late Kilonser joined the Naga movement in the early part of the 1980s and rendered his services till his assassination on May 18 at his private residence in Mon.
“The Konyaks have no points to blame that late Ngampan Konyak was anti-Naga. Therefore we appeal the NSCN (IM) authority to clarify the ‘anti-Konyak’ activities of late Ngampan Konyak with all facts and evidences so that we will do according to our customs and traditional practices that will inherit to this generation” the organizations asked in the joint statement.
