Wonders whether rest of India and the world understands the musical talent  brewing & incubating in North East

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, known for often sharing incredible videos and witty comment on his Twitter account, is deeply impressed with Trance Effect – a four-member band from Nagaland.

From inspirational to hilarious clips, Mahindra’s tweets are widely shared and have devoted followers.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday sharing the latest official video of “Clowns" by Trance Effect, he wondered of whether rest of India and the world understands the musical talent brewing in the North East.

“A friend sent me this link. A group called Trance Effect from Nagaland. I wonder if the rest of India—and also the world—understands the musical talent that is brewing & incubating in our North East? (sic)” he tweeted.

The tweet, since then, has garnered 521 ‘retweets’ and over 3300 likes.

Mahindra, however, did not stop there.

When the Trance Effect, through its official twitter handle, expressed gratitude to him for sharing the video, the Chairman of Mahindra Group was effusive in his endorsement:

“You guys are a class act. Don’t stop dreaming & shoot for the stars... Make us proud...”

Trance Effect is a four-member band from Nagaland with luli Yeptho on Vocals, Sosang Lkr on Drums, Tako Chang on Guitar and Imnamaong Imchen on Bass.

In an exclusive feature on the band in September 2019, The Morung Express noted that the band is gradually gaining popularity since they first came together to form the band in 2017, followed by the release of their debut single, ‘Stop Pretending’, the next year.

Trance Effect, one of the most modern additions to the Indie rock band scene in Nagaland, has managed to cast a 'spell' on their fans and make a mark, particularly in the Indie music scene in the state, it added.

‘Clowns’

Released on its YouTube Channel on January 10, Trance Effect latest offering “Clowns" is a song about “an individual trying to fit in with the society which is already a mess, people trying to pretend to be happy but deep inside they are all struggling to find happiness...”

Being lost in that crowd trying to find one’s own true self as the chorus goes, ‘covered in paint, we're all clowns lost in the crowd,’ read the description of the song.

“It basically means that we the society as a whole is just trying to be like a clown pretending everything's fine when in reality there is more to the story behind everyone's covered faces,” it added.

Other credits for the music vedio include music recorded by -Nash Lkr; Mixed and Mastered by: Tongs Kichu; Music Production: Odi Studio; Lyrics by: Imnamaong Imchen; and Music by: Trance Effect.
