NLSF campaign for ‘fair election’ takes off
Phesama, March 9 (MExN): Following up the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) campaign for ‘fair election’ launched on February 2, the first drive was conducted at Phesama Village on March 7.
Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO), President Kezhokhoto Savi as guest speaker highlighted the importance of ‘clean election’ with an earnest appeal to practice ‘one man one vote’. Savi stated that ‘Clean Election’ may be the only solution and the best opportunity is the forth coming State General Assembly Election.
“In the context of Nagaland, our leaders are to be blame for weakening our economy and promoting inequality where richer are becoming richer and the poor are becoming poorer. Our leaders are fighting for leadership amongst themselves, continually indulging in illegal appointments, promoting scam, nepotism, delay payment of monthly salary to its employee, favouritism, corruption, wrong diversion of public funds meant for development, deduction of commission such as minister/secretary, party fund, etc,” said Savi.
NLSF President informed that the object of launching the fair election campaign is mainly for fair conduct of election in the forth coming Nagaland State Assembly Election 2018. The official of NLSF representing each district in Nagaland shared their experiences of the conduct of election in the past.
A press release stated that the campaign was participated by several of its members led by the chairman of Phesama Village Council and G.Bs, President of Phesama Youth Society, the Chairperson of Phesama Women Society and the President of Phesama Students’ Union.
NLSF is promoting this campaign through All India Radio, Kohima talk and TV (DDK) live telecast.
