Kiphire goes cleaner with Green Conserver club

Hundreds of young people in Kiphire, aspiring to conserve and preserve the environment have come together and formed a club called ‘Kiphire Green Conserver’ with the aim to ‘Clean, Green for Change.’  

The Kiphire Green Conserver club was formed this August and since then they have been actively engaged in various works almost every week by coming in the streets, cleaning the town, giving an additional hand to the District Administration and thus creating a more fresh and pure environment to the citizens of Kiphire. Today nearly 300 youths from all sections come out in the streets and organized a social work making the town cleaner.  

“Members of the club as young as 10 years were also actively seen taking part in the social work which also reflected civic sense that these youngsters have embraced,” said one of the members of the colony chairman as he joined the young people in the social work.  

“The town which is known for unhealthy reason in media all the time is catching up and the young youths of the town who have come up voluntarily shows hope to the citizens,” mentioned a doctor working at district hospital Kiphire.  

So far the Club has organized couple of social works every second Saturdays when offices and institutions are closed.  

Members of the Club have expressed satisfaction to the work that they are doing and stated that this is a small contribution that they are doing for the society. They also encouraged by the appreciation they receive from different stakeholders whenever they organize social work, the Club added.  

The members also disclosed that in addition to social work they will also organize more programme for conservation and greener Kiphire in the days to come.
