Marking World Environment Day, Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir launched the state-wide “Clean and Green Nagaland” initiative here through plantation drive on June 5. “Clean and Green Nagaland” was initiated by Supongmeren Jamir under MPLADS 2025-26
Addressing the launching programme, Jamir stressed on the intensify tree plantation across the state for clean and green Nagaland. Jamir maintained that healthy environment promotes healthy and sustainable life. In this, he called upon the citizens to protect and conserve environment to enhance well being. “It is our responsibility to keep our surrounding clean,” he said.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Khuvishe (Atomu) working president Kohima District Congress Committee while welcome address was delivered by Vikehekho Kintso, chairman New Reserve Panchayat.
