The 27 AC Mokokchung Town NPF Youth Wing organised a cleanliness drive across five wards of the 27 Mokokchung town Assembly Constituency on January 23, aimed at promoting cleanliness, civic responsibility and a healthy environment.

The drive was carried out in Salangtem, Kitchutip, Aongza, Kumlong and Mongsenbai wards. The initiative was sponsored by Metsübo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development and State Institute of Rural Development (RD & SIRD), Government of Nagaland.

According to General Secretary Temsüwati Pongen, youth volunteers ranging from 50 to 70 in each of the five wards participated in the drive. The volunteers cleaned drainages, collected litter and cleared waste from strategic locations within their respective wards.

Pongen expressed gratitude to the minister for providing positive direction and encouragement to the youth, stating that the initiative reflected the role of young people in fostering cleanliness and community responsibility.

The organisers stated that the drive sought to encourage public participation and strengthen awareness on maintaining a clean and healthy town.
