Mokokchung, June 24 (MExN): The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) in collaboration with the Mokokchung District Legal Service Authority (MDLSA) organized a cleanliness drive in all the villages of the federating units and towns that fall under Langpangkong range, in commemoration of its Foundation Day on June 22.
The drive was held under the theme ‘Live life cleaner, make Langpangkong greener’.
Highlighting the importance of environment, a press release from LKM general secretary, Imtisungkum Lemtur noted that various schemes and policies have been implemented by both government and non-governmental agencies to tackle the environmental pollution issues that bring different kinds of problems.
All the federating units and also students of town units carried out the cleanliness drive in their respective villages as per LKM directive to protect environment and maintain clean surrounding. Flex banners with awareness quotes donated by MDLSA were distributed to all the federating units and towns.
On the day, the LKM officials also worked throughout the day cleaning its conference hall and repairing furniture, the release stated.
The LKM has thanked the MDLSA for their co-operation and involvement towards cleanliness “at this juncture of time when environmental protection has become a burning issue.”
