
Kohima, October 15 MExN): The Swachh Bharat Day was observed at Government High School New Market, Kohima organized by School Management Committee and GHS New Market in collaboration with Kohima Municipal Council, Kohima on October 15.
Work area coverage on the day included school building painting and cleaning, road stretched cleaning starting from Pentecostal church to New Market ‘Y’ junction to Daklane junction. The school students, colony people took part in a day long cleanliness drive.
Mission director, RMSA, Limawabang who was the chief guest highlighted that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was initiated by Government of India with a mission of 'clean India' by October 2, 2019. He said many toilets have already constructed in most rural pockets as well as in schools which has little access to proper sanitation. He said Swachh Bharat Mission can be successful only when every citizen becomes a stakeholder and have a sense of social responsibility.
Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council, Kohima Meyase who was the guest of honour said this initiative is a social responsibility where you and I and we together must keep the surrounding clean. He appealed to everyone to give two hours of time in a week to clean the surrounding to transform the environment.
