Club alleges diversion of fund for road repair

DIMAPUR, APRIL 23 (MExN): An association has alleged that a huge amount of fund allocated to several districts of Nagaland is being diverted by the present government.

In a press release issued on Monday, Rhino Club, Zunheboto cited a case in point alleging that an amount of Rs 2 crore allocated towards repair and improvement of district roads under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) by former Chief Minister TR Zeliang in aid of platinum jubilee celebration during the later part of 2017 has been diverted.

The Rhino Club president, Y Hetokhu Awomi claimed that the said fund has been diverted by the present government even though major works have been executed by the contractor owing to time bound contract. The High Court, Kohima Bench has already stayed the diversion order and the matter is slated to be heard soon, the press release maintained.

In this connection, the Club has urged the public of the affected districts to voice out their displeasure against such move.
