CM to be chief celebrant of Milei-ngyi festival

Kohima, March 14 (DIPR): The Milei-Ngyi Festival ‘the Grandiose Carnival to propitiate Almighty’ will be celebrated at New Peren headquarter on March 15 with Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio as the chief celebrant. High Priest/Harbinger will be Heigateing. MLA, Tarie Zeliang and Minister for Planning & Co-ordination Evaluation, Vety & AH and Parliamentary Affairs, T. R. Zeliang will also deliver short speeches during the occasion.
The programme highlights of the day include a traditional reception by the Peren village while promulgation of the Milei-Ngyi will be carried out by the High Priest/Harbinger. Invocation will be pronounced by Rev. Haisong Daime while festive welcome Rhapsody will be presented by Fair Friends B’ Jalukie and prologue of Milei-Ngyi will be carried out by K. Akhang, President ZBN. Other highlights of the programme includes folk song by Benreu Village, cultural dance by Tening Town, Samziuram village and Mbaupungwa Lui, special song by Esther Dailiam, Stern Test of Nerve and Muscle by ZWA and vote of thanks by Deputy Commissioner Peren, C. Metha followed by tug of war between the Zeliangrong Baudi and Officers of Peren District.
