Kohima, October 5 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland, TR Zeliang has extended joyous greetings to Khiamniungan and Pochury Nagas as both the communities celebrate their respective Tsokum and Yemshe festivals of harvest.
According to a press release from Media Cell, Chief Minister’s Office, the Chief Minister stated the two festivals signify very important events in the lives of both the communities as they mark an occasion of thanksgiving to the Almighty God.
“As the festive week commences for both the communities, I have a great hope that these festive sessions will bring prosperity and wellness in all aspects of life for both Khiamniungan and Pochury communities in the year to come,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also appealed to both the communities to use the festivals as an opportunity to forgive one another and foster love, kindness and unity. Stating that the festival is also an occasion to appraise one’s hard work and valour and revitalize aged old cultural values apart from merry making, the Chief Minister urged the two communities to instill work culture and significance of ancestral values among the upcoming generations.
The Chief Minister also wished that the Almighty God bless both the communities in the years to come.
