Medziphema, May 6 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio inaugurated and unveiled the plaque of the Medziphema Town Community Centre and Medziphema City Centre on May 6. It is funded under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (RAY) (2014-2015) and constructed by M/S Naagaamii Infratech Pvt. Ltd.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed happiness at the inauguration of both the centres, stated a DIPR report. He stated that Medziphema Sub-Division on the highway and in between Kohima and Dimapur is an important location and has so much potential and that is why various other departments have come to this place for their establishments like SASRD, ICAR, Horticulture for excellence, and many other departments. “The community needs a place to govern and the leaders should comfortably work for the welfare of the public,” he stated.
Rio was hopeful that the people would use it efficiently for their own welfare. “Government has spent a large amount of money but if the local people don't utilize it, it becomes a huge waste,” he said while requesting the people to protect the assets and maintain and also suggested optimum utilization.
Medziphema being a very important place and having the City Centre, Rio said, the public should know how to utilize it, know how and what to produce. He suggested the need for a wholesale market for people to one location and buy. He encouraged the youths to take training in the Agricultural allied sector and make themselves progressive modern farmers and urged them to use their establishment to the limit.
The CM also assured to help in the development of roads under Medziphema Town while he calling upon the people and leaders to come forth with a voice and unity for the welfare and peace and to build up the township.
Advisor Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and Advisor Sericulture, Excise, and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio also spoke during the programme.
The programme was chaired by T Nchumbemo Odyuo, Joint Secretary, Municipal Affairs Department; dedicatory prayer by Rev Zhabu Terhuja; song of praises and a special song by Medziphema Village BKK and Medziphema Area CRC Youth; Short speeches were delivered by Metsihukho Kuotsu, Chairman Medziphema Village, and Akhotuo Kuotsu, President MTMK; Technical report by Er Theruovituo Pienyu, Executive Engineer Municipal Affairs; and vote of thanks by ADC Medziphema Imsongmeren.
Zhaleo Rio, Jacob Zhimomi, Minister PHED, Azheto MLA, DC Chümoukedima, Commissioner of Police, government officials and others attended the programme.
