Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio inaugurated Mao Market Complex at Sokhriezie, BOC, Kohima on June 6/ This Farmer’s Marketing Complex was constructed by Department of Tribal Affairs and funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India.
This Complex has been constructed after it was gutted in massive fire incident on February 27, 2023.
Addressing the inaugural function, Dr Rio was hopeful that the Mao Market will regain its popularity through this newly constructed building and become a place of economic activities and bring benefit to many families for their livelihood.
The Chief Minister also congratulated all the stakeholders for getting back this place and construction done in a better and more appropriate manner.
Further, Dr. Rio thanked Union tribal affairs minister Arjun Munda for sanctioning funds for this project.
Nagaland’s women resources development & horticulture minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, roads & bridges minister G. Kaito Aye, school education & SCERT advisor Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Industries & Commerce advisor Hekani Jakhalu, MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso, Nagaland’s home commissioner Vyasan R, tribal affairs director I.Sino Phom and several other dignitaries also present at the inaugural function.
The programme was moderated by P. Ela-a while vote of thanks was proposed by H. Dihe, president, Mao Union, Kohima.
