CM launches Naga People Front website

NPF press secretaries sensitize on media affairs

Chief Minister TR Zeliang today launched Naga People Front (NPF) website during one day seminar- cum- workshop for press secretaries of the party here at the NPF Central Office. One can now access the party activities and history by visiting www.npfweb.org  

Chief Minister termed the party website as a big one step forward in the history of the NPF party. He said that NPF has entered into global map and the whole world will be now able to watch the party activities and its function in every level.  

Addressing the workshop, he said the role of press secretaries and media cell, who were tasked to handle media affairs, is very important in the function of the party. In this, the Chief Minister called upon the party press secretaries to be more cautious and careful in their expression and writing and carry the right message to the people. “You also need to bear in mind that your reports should always be fair, balanced and honest and should not be too hard hitting of the other parties/personnel as far as possible,” he said.  

Chief Minister urged the NPF party press secretaries to maintain good public relations. He said as functionaries of a political party which is running the government, it will largely depend on those press secretaries as to how the party is projected to the reading public. “You will have to be the ears and eyes of the party in your respective areas,” he said.  

MP Rajya Sabha K.G. Kenye also urged the party press secretaries to be very careful in filling reports and also press releases. NPF Central Press Secretary TL Merry said effective communication foster understanding of one another and brings people closer together, while lack of communication or communication gap brings misunderstanding and conflicts. In this, he said sending clear message and receiving accurate feedback are essential for effective communication.  

He also informed that the NPF media & press bureau shall steadfastly uphold the onus of providing timely, transparent and authentic information in the light of which citizens can make an informed choice vis-à-vis the issues affecting them.  

The discussion panelists included NPF working president Apong Pongener, Ramietech IT Solution CEO Kedousietuo Nagi, KPC president Xavier Rutsa along with two KPC members Emilo Konyak and H. Chishi. Sebastian Zumvu, associate press secretary NPF Central chaired the function while Pushika Awomi acted as moderator of the interactive session.
