CM mourns demise of Zelul Sophie

Kohima, May 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has condole the demise of Zelul Sophie, father of Kevipodi Sophie, MLA, 14 Southern Angami-I A/C, at Kohima on May 21.

The CM in a press note said that Zelul, during the pre-independence in the 1940s, worked under the Government of British India as ‘ardali’ and later served as a deacon at Jakhama Baptist Church.

He lived a contended life and left an impression in the hearts of his near and dear ones and also of those he knew. He was a man of few words, who was always firm on his decision. He was a loving and caring father who nurtured his children to be kind and honest, the CM stated.

“In his demise, the family as well as Jakhama village have lost a pillar and the void created by his demise will be difficult to fill. We all mourn his demise and will miss him dearly. However, let us give thanks to God for his fulfilled life and cherish the wonderful memories left by him and continue to uphold his good legacy,” he added while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members.
