In his inaugural address, Deputy Chief Minister Patton congratulated the people of Mmyan Village for their resilience and vision.
He expressed his commitment to the development of the village and surrounding areas, emphasising the importance of unity and progress for the collective betterment of the community. Patton called on the settlers of Mmyan Village to foster unity and work together in the spirit of their village’s name. He reminded the community that, in earlier generations, villagers thrived through successful farming, with their granaries a source of pride and prosperity. He urged the people to return to farming practices, emphasising that the land was rich and fertile, with great potential for outstanding agricultural production.
Addressing the villagers' representation submitted for improved road connectivity, Patton assured them that he would advocate for the construction of a road to the village. He also stressed the need for permanent residences in order to access various government developmental programmes and schemes, highlighting that the establishment of a new village should be driven not by the desire to secure government funds, but by the vision of sustainable progress and development for the community.
