
Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today paid tribute to Late Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse on the 20th anniversary of India's victory in the Kargil War. “Remembering Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse on #KargilVijayDiwas2019; a true son of the Naga soil. The supreme sacrifice he made will always be remembered with deepest respect,” tweeted Rio in his official twitter account. Late Captain Kenguruse was an Indian Army officer of 2 Rajputana Rifles. He was martyred at the age of 25 and was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second highest gallantry award for exemplary valor in combat during operations in the Kargil War in 1999. He was born in Nerhema village in Kohima, Nagaland. Captain Kenguruse’s last letter to his father read, “Dad I may not be able to return home to be a part of our family again. Even if I don’t make it, do not grieve for me because I have already decided to give mu best for the nation.”
