Dimapur, July 8 (MExN): Breaking his silence over the latest political crisis in the NPF, the Chief Minister of Nagaland Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu today appealed the people of the State to “remain calm.”
Dr. Shürhozelie, who is also the President of the Naga People’s Front, said that he was deeply pained by the “recent disturbing developments affecting the normal functioning of the Government.”
Asserting that the NPF led DAN Government will complete its full term, the Chief Minister in a statement said, “The normal government functioning should be smooth and the benefits of the Government programmes at the grassroot level especially in rural areas should not be hampered in any manner.”
He further maintained that the current issue is within the NPF party and will be “resolved at the earliest to bring about normalcy in the state.”
“The mandate of the people will be respected and the present crisis will be resolved in the larger interest of the people of the State,” the Chief Minister added.
Terminates TR’s position as Advisor
Meanwhile, following latest political development in the State, the Chief Minister of Nagaland Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has terminated TR Zeliang’s appointment as Advisor (Finance) to the Government of Nagaland. A press notification from Cabinet Secretary Pankaj Kumar stated that Zeliang is terminated “with immediate effect.”
Following the termination order, TR Zeliang in a statement addressed to the Governor of Nagaland tendered his resignation as the Advisor (Finance) to the Government of Nagaland.
