Kohima, October 21 (MExN): The Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) held its office charge handing and taking over ceremony on October 19 at the residence of the outgoing President Zaposhelu Venuh, Phek Town.
According to a press release from the CMA, outgoing President Zaposhelu Venuh in her short speech thanked the entire Chakhesang mothers for reposing faith in her by electing her as the President for two consecutive tenures-2013 till 2018.
Highlighting some of the few achievements made by the CMA during the tenures, Venuh said, procuring a plot of land for the Association at Phek Town sacrificed by the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) was indeed one of the greatest achievement where the long desires of the Association is finally fulfilled. She further expressed happiness that, a new system was introduced during her tenure saying that, presentation of Audited Treasurer report during the session reflects the functioning of transparency and accountability in the Association.
She also added that a new well outlook begun and looks forward for more of such innovative introduction in the Association.
She also lamented the countless failures during her tenure but also assured all possible assistance in the near future. Incoming President, Zhonelu Tunyi, expressed her happiness over the mandate of the community womenfolk for reposing faith in her and her team.
She further assured to work for the welfare and interest of the community womenfolk under transparency and accountability where she sought unflinching cooperation from all walks of live. Thanking the outgoing President for her wonderful contributions she further sought her cooperation even in the future. The outgoing President also declared handing over of the charge and powers to the new team on the day itself.
