CMHSS Phek observes World No Tobacco Day

Kohima, June 7(MExN): The Christian Mission Higher Secondary School Phek observed World No Tobacco Day on May 31 last.  

Students presented a skit, highlighting how the use of tobacco started and how the people get influenced through friends, parents and media.  

CMHSS principal in her speech highlighted the concerns of World Health Organisation (WHO) that more awareness should be created about the health risk associated with tobacco use.  

She pointed out that because of the plant nicotiana- which came to be used as tobacco, millions of people have died each year around the world.  

She further stated that God did not create a plant to destroy someone, every plant has a purpose but human have misused it.  

Tobacco plant has been useful for animals and used as insecticides by the farmers. The students are reminded not to take tobacco which is harmful for their body but to honour God with their life.  

The students took a pledge -"Say no to tobacco" "Save life."
