
Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer, Kohima today issued a notice urging the public to be careful of food purchase and consumption. It specifically urged the public to check the labels and licenses on food packages; to avoid ready to eat food wrapped in newspapers; to avoid food high in fat, salt and sugar; and to ensure that imported food have the importer details in India. The notice also appealed to the public to participate and report any food related complaints. It also informed that Colony Panchayats/Youth Organisations can write to the aforementioned authority if joint inspection needs to be done in their respective areas.
