55 meritorious students receive Rs 50,000 each under Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship

Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today presented Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship (CMMSF) award to the 55 meritorious students belonging to indigenous Scheduled Tribe of Nagaland.
The awardees carried Rs 50,000 each along with certificate on the basis of ranking in the HSLC examination 2019.
Handing over the award to the students at Capital Convention Centre here, Rio congratulated the recipients and further encouraged them to keep up their achievement and try to do better. “You can do better and achieve greater heights,” Rio said.
Expounding on the competitive world, Rio said the merit and dedicated people are in high demand in this present generation. In this, he urged upon the students to live a positive life and have a sense of competitive spirit. “It is time we take everything seriously and try to become a real person who can be a real asset not only for parents or schools but the society as a whole,” Rio said.
Rio said this Fellowship has been instituted to encourage, recognize and motivate the students so that they will grow to be the part of our future generation and contribute to the community and the nation.
Stating that every recognition carry responsibilities, he hoped the students will continue to take their education seriously.
Rio also urged upon the meritorious students to maintain consistency in their studies and performances so that they don’t loss their recognition. “I want you to keep competitive spirit,” Rio said.
Nagaland’s School Education Advisor, K T Sukhalu said that this Fellowship was initiated by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, which is a small contribution by the state government to encourage the youths to give an extra push.
Stating that our children need attention and care, he said that the government is concern for the young generation and giving channel and platform to them to excel in their life.
One of the recipients Niphreno Iralu of G Rio School, Kohima appreciated the Chief Minister for recognizing the meritorious students, which she said, encourages the students to work harder.
Another recipient Emjungwapang Amer of Mezhür Higher Secondary School Kohima said “This Fellowship stands as a testimony of a goodwill and encouragement.”
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Nagaland’s school education &SCERT principal secretary Menukhol John.
