CNBC unites under new name with renewed commitment

Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): Recognizing the felt needs of uniting the Naga Baptist Associations towards fulfillment of God’s mission together and in view of accommodating all the Naga Christians, the Council of Naga Baptist Churches (CNBC) has changed its name into Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA).  
A press note issued by Rev.  Dr. V. K. Nuh, General Secretary, FNBA informed that this change of name was unanimously adopted at the 25th Anniversary celebration of the CNBC held at Kalinamai Baptist church from March 19 to 20, 2011.  Among others, the CNBC 25th Anniversary Resolutions include its renewed commitment for Biblical ministry, World Mission and holistic ministry of the Gospel.
Giving special emphasis on the holistic ministry, it has resolved to continue its involvement in the ministry of Peace and reconciliation among the Naga people; focus on neglected part of the family specially the Nagas in Myanmar; participate in socio- human concern in our home, nation around us and in our global family, stated the resolution. Another significant resolution, the note mentioned was that the New Initiative of the Fellowship wherein it has resolved to i) urge upon our member associations to establish a model school implanting quality education with pragmatic development towards efficient, holistic and practical impact in the consummation of developing human skills and resources in their respective areas; ii) consider setting a comprehensive Christian Ministry Institute with a component of (a) pastoral care training (b) indigenous studies relating to Naga culture and anthropology and (c)  research and data analysis on the world as a whole with special focus on Nagas and nations around for dissemination.
In order to work out and explore strategies and resources towards implementing the new Initiative of  FNBA , a 16 member  Master Planning Committee composed of experts from all walks of life have been appointed with Rev. Zhabu Terhuja  as the Convenor.
Focusing on the theme “ Look around the fields” (John 4:35) the  25th Anniversary Celebration was addressed by Rev. L. Bizo President of CNBC, Rev. T. Shishak, Emeritus Principal Patkai Christian College, Rev. Dr.P.Dozo, Founder of Missiological Research Centre. Sano Vamuzo Chairperson State Women Commission released the Jubilee Souvenir while Rev. Kari Longchar, Peace Director, NBCC and Rev.(Miss) Narola brought Greetings on behalf of NBCC.
The two-day celebration was marked by special spotlights and enthralling music presentations from Kalinamai Baptish Church choir, Poumai Naga Baptist Association choir, Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero choir, Oriental Theological Seminary choir, Khuzama Baptist Church choir, Somra Baptist Association Myanmar Naga Choir and Myanmar Naga Students Choir. More than 1000 people from 21 Associations registered their participation and support  during this 25thAnniversary Celebration .Representatives of fraternal Associations and organized Baptist bodies from Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh also  participated in this historic gathering.
