CNC anguished, displeased over Manipur violence

DIMAPUR, MAY 13 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) on Saturday expressed deep anguish and displeasure over the ‘brutal carnage’ that has taken place in Manipur.

Alleging that the nature of recent mayhem in Manipur was a “premeditated operation committed by insane mob in collusion with people in power,” the CNC in a press statement said the “use of terrorism by state actors is visible beyond human comprehension” and there was no words to condemn the violence inflicted to helpless tribal people.

It alleged that the leaders in power, instead of coming to the rescue of the helpless victims, worked in tandem with the criminals in battering the innocents.

While condemning the violence, the CNC has called upon all right thinking people to strongly condemn and denounce those who were behind the mayhem.  It also extended condolences to the families who lost their near and dear ones, speedy recovery to all the wounded and peace to those who are suffering from the trauma of the violence. It prayed for justice and that such mindless acts never happen again in the near future.
