
DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has asked “all denominations and Churches of Nagalim” and all regions, units and brigades to conduct a special thanksgiving prayer program on the August 1, marking the 'Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day' and August 3, marking the signing of the Framework Agreement in their respective churches or places.
A press release from the CNC General Secretary said that “the greatest and most important achievements of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) in its struggle” were the NSCN (IM) becoming a member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) on 23rd January, 1993; the declaration of the Second Indo-Naga Ceasefire on August 1, 1997; the joint declaration of the NSCN (IM) and GoI on official recognition of uniqueness of Naga history on July 11, 2002; and the signing of the Framework Agreement between NSCN (IM) and GoI on August 3, 2015
“By the grace of God, these breakthroughs and important milestones were achieved by NSCN through the blood, sweat, tears, and selfless sacrifices of many precious Naga souls and most importantly through the prayer support of the peoples and churches in Nagalim and abroad. These are important dates and days that needs to be remembered and observed because these are hard earned victories granted by God to Naga nation as an expression of His faithfulness,” the CNC stated.
“On these days let us thankfully give glory to God for sustaining and protecting the Naga nation thus far through His grace and mercy. Let us thank God for the past leadership through whom these important milestones were achieved for Naga nation. Let us also thank God for the present leadership and pray for them to let God grant them wisdom, understanding and good health and also enable them to complete the unfinished task to usher in permanent peace and workout acceptable and honorable solution to the vexed Indo-Naga political issue, on the basis of Framework Agreement,” it added.
