CNCCI for public naming individuals, NPGs behind ‘anti-national’ acts

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has urged the Dimapur Police to publicly name individuals and groups involved in what it termed as “anti-national activities” carried out in the name of the Naga National Movement.

In a statement issued by its Media Affairs Cell, the CNCCI said such actions not only undermine the true principles of the Naga National Movement but also bring disrepute to the aspirations of the Naga people and tarnish the image of “Nagaland for Christ.”

The confederation made the appeal while commending the Dimapur Police for their prompt and effective action in rescuing four kidnapped businessmen on October 8 after taking suo motu cognisance of the case. It further urged the police to book the culprits and ensure the severest punishment to deter future occurrences.

The CNCCI observed that incidents of kidnapping and coercion targeting the business community have become recurring issues, often going unreported due to fear and intimidation. It said such acts create a climate of insecurity and hinder the smooth functioning of trade and commerce in the city.

Reiterating its commitment to peace, safety, and lawful conduct, the CNCCI stated that proactive policing and transparency in dealing with such cases are essential to restoring public confidence and safeguarding the interests of the business community.
