DIMAPUR, May 26 (MExN): The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) has welcomed the Government of Nagaland’s move to halt the issuance of Restrictive Trade Permits by Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and cancel those already issued. In a press release, the CNCCI stated that it had persistently engaged with the government on this issue at various levels, advocating for corrective steps. The confederation welcomed the government’s response, saying it demonstrated seriousness in addressing the concerns of the business community. “As the apex chamber representing all 17 District Chambers across the state, CNCCI considers itself a committed partner in the Government’s mission for economic development and progress,” it stated. The body said that sustainable economic growth could only be achieved through meaningful collaboration between the government and the business sector.
It further noted that the move signals a shift toward inclusive governance and stakeholder engagement, calling the action “a timely and positive intervention” that helps build a “vibrant and robust business ecosystem” in Nagaland.
