Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Central Students’ Association (CNSA) has demanded the resignation of Nagaland BJP President Temjen Imna Along “for hurting the sentiments of the Nagas while pleasing the BJP/RSS at Delhi.” A press release issued by Charles Lotha, President CNSA and others stated that Temjen Imna Along, also a cabinet minister in the present PDA government, “has time and again proved himself to be a threat to the sentiments and religious beliefs of the Nagas.” The statement also added that from trying to submerge the ashes of (L) Vajpayee to painting BJP party symbol at all polling stations (usually school or community properties) he had proved himself as the “biggest challenge to the young Nagas and threat to religious harmony of the Nagas.” While he may be trying to please his political bosses, it is upon the Nagas, the statement claimed to “uphold our faith with dignity, secularism and tranquility.” It is dignified for a person to admit his/her mistakes and “only a coward justifies reckless pursuit.” “Let Temjen Imna Along’s conduct be an eye opener to other Naga leaders” that Nagas will not allow such activities. The statement added that “he should own moral responsibility” for his act and “resign with apology for hurting the sentiments of the Nagas while pleasing the BJP/RSS at Delhi.”
