Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council today vehemently condemned the recent threat meted out to Odisha Governor Dr. S.C Jamir by the outlawed CPI (Maoist).
Asking him to quit his office, the CPI (Maoist) had reportedly threatened to blow up the Raj Bhavan.
Further slamming the signatories of the letter -Ravindra Verma and Mantu, the CNTC in a press note said it cannot remain a mute spectator when one of “its son and a leader is threatened and intimidated by such outlawed and proscribed body.”
A former Chief Minister of Nagaland, former Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister and former Governor, Dr. S.C Jamir is a living legend and a political stalwart not only among the Nagas but among the whole nation, it added.
CNTC further noted that though there were as many as 5 life attempts on Jamir's life, yet he was saved on all those occasions by “the Hand of Providence.”
