Co-ordination meeting on Mission Indradhanush held

Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): A co-ordination meeting was held between the District Health Authority and Chairmen and Gaonburas of colonies and wards where Mission Indradhanush is being implemented in Dimapur on May 31. 

The meeting was organised for better co-ordination between the health workers and colony/ward authorities during the implementation of Mission Indradhanush 2016 so as to improve the overall immunization of the children, a press release received here said.  

Dr. Lanuakum, DPO, RCH-UIP briefly highlighted the concept of Mission Indradhanush and the importance of routine immunization. He informed the participants that Mission Indradhanush was implemented in high risk areas where there are slums, migrant settlers, brick kilns, hard to reach population etc. It is also being implemented in areas with low routine immunization coverage.  

Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur urged the colony and wards representatives to activate the ASHAs and AWWs in their respective areas to mobilize the beneficiaries and also requested the representatives to make it mandatory to immunize the children and pregnant women in their wards. He also requested them to co-operate and support the health workers in the implementation and for the success of Mission Indradhanush in Dimapur district.
