
Kohima, April 19 (MExN): In order to develop a world-class cold chain infrastructure, government and industries bodies need to work in collaboration and bring commensurate economic returns to the farmers.
On this backdrop, Progress Harmony Development Chamber of Commerce &Industry in association with National Centre of Cold Chain Development, Government of India is organizing its sixth programme in series of Outreach Awareness Programme on Cold –Chain on April 21 here at Hotel Japfu.
The objective of this awareness programme is to sensitize the relevant industry stakeholders regarding the various financial assistance schemes being driven by Government of India under various ministries to promote awareness campaign and educate market participant about the importance of cold chain management to help farmers increase their income.
NCCD under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India is one of the driving forces in developing the cold chain in India.
The inaugural function will start from 10:30 onwards with Nagaland’s chief secretary Pankaj Kumar as the chief guest.
Welcome address will be delivered by Dr Ranjeet Mehta, Director, PHD Chamber. The function will be addressed by Tali Longchar, Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Nagaland, Alan Gonmei, secretary, Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland, Hushili Sema, Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland.
Technical sessions will feature topics on ‘Various Govt. financial assistance schemes for Development of Cold Chain’ to be moderated by Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Director, PHD Chamber, presentation on ‘Awareness about Cold Chain’ by S. K. Hazarika, Regional Manager, NER, PHD Chamber.
