With a view to cater to the burgeoning growth in the agricultural, horticultural and allied activities, infrastructural development in the form of storage facilities has become the urgent need of the hour, according to the annual administrative report of the department of cooperation. To address this, the report said  a policy was set in place by the state government under the aegis of the Agriculture Production Commissioner to set up cold storages by cooperatives in all the district headquarters of the state. They are to be assisted under NCDC-sponsored schemes. The project proposals for setting up the cold storages in all the 11 districts of Nagaland have been scrutinized and submitted, the report said. Further development in this regard is awaited, the report said.
