Combined Teachers’ Day held at Phek Town

Phek, September 8 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students Union (PTCSU) along with the District Education Office (DEO) Phek and Sub-Divisional Office (SDO) Phek held a Combined Teachers’ Day programme at Phek Town on September 5.  

According to a press release from the PTCSU, resource person on the occasion, RukuweloMero, Superintendent of Police, Phek, briefed the teachers on their role of moulding students and encouraged the Teachers to be sincere and dedicated in their profession.  

Wezo-u Dienu, Class 12, GHSS Phek, gave a tribute to the teachers while S.P Raja, GT GHSS Phek, spoke on behalf of teachers.  

12 District Teacher Awardees and 6 Sub-Divisional Teacher Awardees were felicitated during the programme. Kiddies Corner School presented a Solo, Choreography by Royal Foundation School while Christian Mission High School, Bishop Abraham Memorial High School and Govt. Higher secondary School enthralled the congregation with their energetic dances. The best placard and best banner were awarded to Kiddies Corner School and Holy Care School respectively.  

Altogether, 1600 participants comprising of students from the highest two classes of each school along with their teachers attended the program. Earlier, the students took out a rally from Clock Tower to the venue. Penalty Shootout Tournament.  

Meanwhile, the Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union has informed that it will be organising an Open Penalty Shootout Tournament on September 10.  

The tournament is being held to help generate funds for the upcoming “2 Months Intensive Coaching Programme” for Class 10 students in Maths and Science subjects which will be provided for free, the release informed.
