Kohima, September 28 (MExN): The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG 2015 Batch) today resolved that it “shall act according to the resolution September 26, 2018” whereby they resolved to act “collectively” in their fight against the injustice meted out to them whatever “the consequences.”
The resolution was made after learning that a proposed State Cabinet meeting on September 28, which among others, was convened to discuss the issue was deferred.
The meeting was deferred “without any logical reasons which has again proved the government’s negligence and ignorance towards the aggrieved matter of ANATG 2015 Batch,” stated a press release issued by Batch President, Rüguotsolie; General Secretary, Pekato Zhimomi; and Convenor, Thungchanbemo E.
It further stated despite all the difficulties faced by its members, the Batch temporarily suspended the agitation on September 21 following an assurance from the government through the intervention of ANSTA and NSF that the meeting will be held on September 26 with the department official headed by the Advisor of School Education for solving the aggrieved matter.
In the meeting, the ANATG was assured that granting of regular scale of pay based on the constitutional rights of ‘Equal Pay for Equal Work’ would be proposed for cabinet approval at the Cabinet meeting scheduled on September 28, it maintained.
Among others, the Advisor of School Education; Senior Additional Advocate General to the Government of Nagaland; Principal Secretary, School Education; and Director of School Education were present at the meeting, it added.
However, the proposed meeting on September 28 was deferred adding to their resentment. The ANATG 2015 Batch further noted that their resentment “was purely based on the fact that incumbents from various departments were being regularized.”
Meanwhile, they acknowledged the support from various organizations and concerned intellectuals from across the state and further solicited their supports saying, “It is at this moment that when hopes are lost but yet your support and encouragements leads us to hope for a brighter ray of immaculate day of justice.”
The Batch further noted that the agitation on September 21 was a “proper judgment and consensus” of its 1166 members.
