Commemorative volume released in memory of educationist RN Sarma

BAJALI, JUNE 20 (MExN): A commemorative volume titled Sajal Swaron marking the first death anniversary of late Rajendra Nath Sarma, retired Principal of Bangaon Higher Secondary School in Bajali district was formally released on June 18 in the presence of a large gathering.

Inaugurating the book, Prof DP Mishra, retired Head of the Department of English, Bhattadev University, said the volume offers readers insight into the life and personality of Rajendra Nath Sarma, who was a devoted and successful educator. “He was the embodiment of simplicity, generosity, and benignity. Simple living and high thinking was his guiding principle,” Prof. Mishra noted.

Speakers including Dwijen Bhatta, Dilip Sarma, Bhupen Sarma, and Tapan Sarma reflected on the multifaceted contributions of late Sarma.

Sarma joined Bangaon HSS as an assistant teacher in 1967 and retired as principal in 2002. Known for his strict discipline and dedication, he actively guided students in academics as well as co-curricular activities. He was also a skilled homeopathic practitioner. The commemorative event was attended by family members, relatives, and local residents who gathered to pay tribute to Sarma’s legacy.
