NBSE rank holders from Catholic Schools and Catholic Schools with guests and others during the felicitation programme held at Holy Cross, Dimapur on May 11.

Kohima, May 11 (MExN): The Commission for Education Diocese of Kohima (CEDOK) felicitated NBSE rank holders from Catholic Schools and Catholic Schools with 100 % pass result in a function held at Holy Cross, Dimapur on May 11.
A total of 34 rank holders (22 HSLC & 12 HSSLC) and 17 schools (8 HSLC & 9 HSSLC) were felicitated on the occasion. The Toppers were felicitated with a Certificate, memento and Cash award, stated a press release issued by CEDOK.
Dr Tinojungshi Chang, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, speaking as the special guest appreciated the catholic schools for the educational growth of the state. He asked the students to dedicate and focus on their goals and not divert from their goals even though they may face a lot of hurdles. The DC Dimapur encouraged them to face those hurdles as a stepping stone and take it as a challenge.
Further, he advised the students to take advantage of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology to enhance their knowledge and asked them to think positively.
Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima in his presidential address appreciated the students for their hard work and the teachers who worked with full dedication and the schools which gave the right ambience, which brought success to them. The Bishop of Kohima also asked the students to be grateful to their parents, teachers and school. He challenged the students to be catalyst of positive change in the society and encouraged them to live the moral values and discipline they learned in the school and become beacons of light for the society.
Ketsino Jane Frances, HSLC 2nd Rank holder, in her thanksgiving message expressed gratitude to her teachers at all levels for their inspiring guidance. Frances said that the number of experiences she gained throughout her schooling moulded and nurtured her and accepted every challenge as an opportunity to grow.
Along with the special guests, Rita Kikon, Former President, NCWA and Rev Sr Sibi, CMC Provincial gave away certificates of appreciation and cash awards to the Toppers.
Earlier on the day, Rev Dr Jacob Charalel, Secretary, CEDOK delivered the welcome address and also gave statistics of Catholics schools which stated that 24 % of HSLC, 20 % of HSSLC Arts, 26 % of HSSLC Commerce and 30 % of HSSLC Science students passed out in the NBSE exams this year are from Catholic Schools. From the enrolled students, 91 % of HSLC, 96 % of HSSLC Arts, 96 % of HSSLC Commerce and 89 % of HSSLC Science students from Catholic Schools were declared qualified by the Board this year. Rev Fr Philip Yanpvuthung, Principal, Holy Cross HSS proposed the vote of thanks.
