
MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 20 (MExN): The monthly review meeting of the District Level Committee for Narcotic Coordination Centre (NCORD), Mokokchung was held at the DC’s conference hall, Mokokchung on June 18. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, a DIPR report informed.
The chairman stressed on the significance of the monthly review meeting to address the issue of Drug menace in the district. Reviewing the last meeting agendas, CMO was asked to continue with the inspection of CCTV installation at Pharmacies in the district.
On the on-going substances abuse awareness program, DEO informed the house that the program will be taken up after the summer break. Sr SP Mokokchung also informed the house on the various activities carried out by the Police against drugs menace. To commemorate International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the house proposed to conduct a Half Marathon event on the June 22.
The Half Marathon event will be flagged off at 5:30 AM on June 22 at DEF, Mokokchung and will culminate at Main Police Point (Imlong Place). There will be two categories for the event viz: High School/Higher Secondary Students (Male & Female) and Open (Senior) (Male & Female), the DIPR report informed.
NCORD Longleng conducts inspection drive
The Narcotic Coordination Centre (NCORD) Longleng District carried out an inspection drive on June 18, in all the drug store/ pharmacies within the Longleng Town Council area.
The team consisting of EAC, Longleng Vitolu Chishi, Drug Control Officer, Tsuniungrenla Jamir, Police personnel and Dobashis inspected 28 (twenty eight) drug stores for installation of CCTV and maintenance of register, a DIPR report informed.
During the inspection, the team observed that most of the pharmacies were yet to install proper CCTV facilities, except P.J pharmacy, Bahok ward.
