Committee to meet on NPSC revamp

Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The questionnaires circulated by the high-powered committee instated to revamp the NPSC system, is to be submitted to the committee either directly to the Chief Secretary/Additional Chief Secretary/ Principal Secretary P/AR/ director ATI or to the NSF by May 2, 2007. The Naga students Federation had, December 4 last year, demanded revamping the NPSC and an agreement was reached to take effective measures for the same within six-months by constituting a high-powered committed.

In pursuance of this matter, the committee had circulated questionnaires to concern civil society, mass-based organizations of the state, ministers and MLAs and individuals for their suggestions and views. The questionnaires should be submitted by May 2 to be taken up in the HPC meeting scheduled for May 3, NSF president Phushika Aomi informed. Some of the main highlights pointed out by the NSF chief as points to be focused on, include the bribery that surfaced in the NPSC on February 14, 2004, the investigation report of the State Vigilance, the state government’s ‘inaction’ against the guilty parties and the NSF’s long-standing demand for a CBI enquiry. These points should be the focus for all concerned citizens to impact a respectable and determined future, particularly for youths, Aomi stated.
