
DIMAPUR, DEC 14 (DIPR): The one-day session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die by the Speaker Kiyanielie after announcing the constitution of an Assembly Committee to inquire into the utilization of funds meant for AIDS control projects in the state for the past ten years.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio moved a motion seeking the approval of the House with the First Report of the Rules Committee for insertion of a new Rule 221-A in the Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The insertion of a new Rule enabled the House to constitute a Committee to scrutinize every Act of Parliament to see whether any or all provisions of such Act affect any or all of the matters enumerated in Article 371-A (1) (a) of the Constitution of India and if that Act so affects, to recommend such Acts of Parliament that may have been made or may be made applicable to the state of Nagaland by following the procedure laid down in the said article of the constitution of India. The House passed the motion unanimously.
