KOHIMA, JULY 5 (DIPR): Nagaland Government has reconstituted the Committee for reviewing the working of the existing policy on reservation of 33% of post for Backward tribes by enlarging its composition. The committee will be led by Banuo Z. Jamir, Principal Secretary, School Education as Chairperson, T.C, Sangtam, Secretary, DUDA as Member Secretary and the members include R.B. Thong, Commissioner & Secretary, Labour & Employment, Sentiyanger Imchen, Home Commissioner, K.N. Chishi Additional Secretary, Justice & Law and T. Kiheto Sema Joint Secretary, P&AR
The Committee shall examine and give its view on the working of the existing reservation policy and the need for change/modifications, if any, whether any modifications in the list of the Backward Tribes are called for by exclusion/inclusion of tribes, whether the existing system of roster for filling up Backward quotas are working satisfactorily or some modifications are necessary and what mechanism can be adopted to take care of ‘Unrepresented Tribes’ in the various Government services.
In addition to these, the Committee will also examine and give its views on the issues raised by Eastern Naga Students Federation, which was submitted to the State Government. The Committee shall submit its report within 2 (two) months from the date of issue of this Notification.
