‘A Common Platform for all’

Coup system, election camp, vote trading prohibited in 33 AC Suruhuto-Asuto Area  

Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): All the intending candidates in 33 AC Suruhuto-Asuto Area will be given a common platform to express themselves in a public meeting from forthcoming elections.  

With the objective of letting people chose the leaders on the basis of ‘efficiency and capabilities,’ each candidate will be given free and sufficient time to express themselves in such public meetings.  

“This will be the final judgment for the fate of the candidate before casting vote,” a statement from the ‘Apex Body/Committee unfair election’ of 33 AC Suruhuto-Asuto Area informed.  

The resolution, among others, was passed during the Committee’s tour of all 29 villages under 33Assembly Constituency Suruhuto-Asuto from May 8-12.  

“The Committee unfair election shall take over and exercise the entire process for holding common platform system in each village basing on their programmes and the meeting will be conduct by the Apex Body/Committee unfair election,” the statement said.  

It also resolved to strictly prohibit purchasing and selling vote and opening of election camp during state as well as parliamentary election.  

Usages of alcohol and drugs as well as coup system in particulars village violating the concept of free and fair election will also be strictly penalised under ‘as per provision of election commission’, it added.  

The Committee comprised of all the apex organisations in the area including Kukami Hobo (GB); Sulimi Totirni Loka (STL); Students’ Union; Village Council Chairmen; VDB Associations; Suruhuto Area Public Organization; and Church Leaders Fellowship (CLF).  

Besides, it also includes village level sub-committee from each village such as VC Chairman; GBs; Village Students Union; Member STL; Church Leaders and Deacons and VDB Secretary.  

The resolutions are aimed at conducting free and fair election in the forth coming Assembly election through the system of common platform, the statement said.  

“The main Aims and objective of the campaign is to fulfill Election Commission rules and to follow up the principle rule of law in the forth coming 2018 Assembly Election so that people can justly and elect the good leader who posses honest intelligent and capable to fulfill the aspiration and desires of the people by bringing all around development,” it added.  

Consequently, no candidate will be allowed to open election camp and the opening of individual or political party camp is strictly ban as per committee resolution.  

“The committee abolished coup system in particulars village violation village shall take necessary action as per provision of election commission,” it added.  

Purchasing and selling vote is strictly prohibited as per the constitutional and law of election commission, the statement further informed.
