Jotsoma Nuolhou Kehou (public gathering) was held at the village local ground with 8th Western AC MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro as speaker on December 30.
Speaking on the stand of the village, he called to retrospect and question how far the people as a village have come today, and whether the village have made considerable progress to content on it. Looking back 60 years since statehood, he said the village during the period made many achievement and contribution to the larger society in tune with the world progressing with development and civilization.
Nakhro called to reflect how much progress have been made and whether the village have been able to make enough of what was done by our elders and parents.
The speaker said the village has seen long standing and strong legislators, leaders sports persons, eminent persons among others who have spearheaded many fields and our villagers were second to none. But looking in the larger arena, other communities also made the similar progress. He said with technological advancement and easy availability of modern amenities people was leading better lives.
Nakhro however said that the out of over thousand household as recorded in the census of the village, there were only about 90 gazetted officers which was not 10% of the total household; he mentioned that including people the people engaged in different jobs, entrepreneurship, business, educated and students, there were around 2000 out of the total population of the village which was around 5000 people. The number of people unemployed was over a thousand.
Giving his observation on the present literacy situation of the village, Nakhro said when compared with the present total population and household the number of graduates and educated youths was low. He called to ponder where the village was lacking behind.
The celebration was led by Pfükhrielie Peseyie, while Rev Zakiebeinyü invoked God's blessings and Pfüneinyü Nakhro pronounced the elder's blessings. Greetings was extended by village council chairman, Rüdolie Nagi while head GB Zakiebito Senotsu spoke on the way of life of the village in the past and Dr Lhuviralie Nakhro spoke on his expectation for the village. Special songs were presented by Thekrünoma and Tsieyama khels. Khunyü Rino proposed the vote of thanks and Rev Fr Dr Pezalhoukho George Rino offered the benediction.
