‘Alikhong Lang’ (road) was inaugurated by A Island Peace Yangthsaba, President, Singrep Yangdong Suro Ashimukhong on May 17.
Kiphire, May 17 (MExN): The ‘Alikhong Lang’ (road) Alikhong Sector, Rest House Ward, Kiphire Town was inaugurated by A Island Peace Yangthsaba, President, Singrep Yangdong Suro Ashimukhong on May 17.
‘The Alikhong Lang measuring around 600-700 metres was constructed solely with community participation and without any assistance from the Government,’ stated a press release issued by Khalise Louise, Chairman, Alikhong Sector, Rest House Ward, Kiphire town. The road construction was initiated and supervised by Singrep Yangdong Suro Ashimukhong led Singrep Village General Council.
After the inaugural at the junction of Fire & Emergency Services, road inspection was done and followed by another programme at the residence of the chairman. The special guest said that good roads are important for all round development. He, therefore, urged upon the Government of Nagaland and the concerned department to assist the ward in all possible ways to further extend the road till Phahroki and Tukhaki.
